AS经济2025夏季卷Essay解析

今天我们来分析一下AS经济24卷的Essay部分。

CIE每年的卷子都有常规题来给大家拿分，这次也不例外：

- 常规题+原题 (默写题): 3b, 4b, 5b

- 常规题 (准备过的知识点, 只需要现场思考结构): 2a, 3a, 5a

- 带context的题 (知识点的运用, 需要现场思考): 2b, 4a

因此，分数线应该也和往年差不多。很多同学很庆幸考到的essay都是准备过的，然而这是参加考试拿A*最基本的要求。我无法想象要是essay全是没见过的新题型或者带context的分析题那结果会惨烈成什么样。

大家可能也发现了每道题的ab问考的都是不同的知识点。这也是为什么我们一直强调要完整准备，这样才能确保考试考的常规题可以拿到足够高的分。接下去我们简单分析一下这几道题。

首先看一下三个默写题。这些题都是出现过原题的，内容部分我就直接用平时上课的课件来给大家过思路了。

3(b) Assess whether a minimum wage policy is the best way to redistribute income in an economy.结构: 至少两个policy (AO2); 比较 (AO3)每个policy先写定义，然后写怎么redistribute，分析effectiveness以及对economic growth的影响。

*我上课一直说写income inequaltiy的policy一定要同时提到economic growth, 不然学朝鲜大家工资都一样就行了。这是evaluation里非常重要的一个criteria. 我不知道不写growth会怎么样，但是写了一定能拿高分。

4(b) Assess whether the consequences of inflation in an economy are always negative.结构: inflation (AO1); 好处坏处 (AO2); 比较 (AO3)可以先写好处再写坏处，也可以按照consumer, producer, government以及economy来分析。

5(b) Assess whether the depreciation of an exchange rate is always beneficial to an economy.结构: depreciation (AO1); 好处坏处 (AO2); 比较 (AO3)可以先写好处再写坏处，也可以按照net exports, inflation, FDI和external debt进行分析。

*我知道FDI和external debt不在考纲，然后这道题如果只写前两点可能不够撑起8分的篇幅，因此我还是把这两点写进了课件。

然后看一下三个常规题。

2(a) With the help of a formula, explain the meaning of price elasticity of demand and consider the significance to a firm of having price elastic or price inelastic demand for its product.结构: 3+5;PED定义公式elastic/inelastic (AO1); Significance (AO2); Limitations (AO3)AO2: Significance和revenue结合起来，还可以写让PED变地更inelastic的办法;AO3: accuracy of figure, ceteris paribus, problems of changing PED3(a) With the help of a diagram, explain the impact of introducing an effective minimum price for a product and consider the effect on the consumer surplus for that product.

结构: 3+5;Minimum price, CS定义(AO1); Minimum price减少CS, 不同PED (AO2); Effect到底怎样 (AO3)

*这道题的结构也可能是6+2，毕竟minimum price导致的surplus是可以作为AO2详细解释的。因此我们答题的时候按照6+5来最为保险。

AO1 mimumum price部分:

AO2拿高分的关键是解释清楚Minimum price和CS的关系。

这里CS的下降我说的是elastic demand对应QD下降更多，因此分析的是relative decrease.肯定有同学认为是inelastic下降更多 (因为下降的面积更大)，这个只要解释了是absolute decrease也完全可以拿分。

AO3: 讨论到底怎么下降 (如果MS是6+2的结构那不需要这一段)可以写的点包括minimum price通常是agricultural goods而不会超过Market price太多，所以对CS不会有特别大的影响.

最后说一下这个知识点为什么是可以准备的：CIE考过supply下降对CS的影响，那其他factors (demand上升, minimum price) 肯定也是要求掌握的。这么准备的话即使考试没考到一样的题那也是完全可以拿分的。

5(a) With the help of a formula, explain the causes of an improvement in the terms of trade in an economyandconsider whether such an improvement can ever be harmful to an economy.

结构: 未知，按照6+5来写Terms of trade 定义,公式,上升 (AO1); 两个TOT上升的原因 (AO2) TOT上升的好处坏处 (AO2); 比较 (AO3)AO2写常规点就行，AO3可以写depends on sectors, trade/GDP ratio, cause等等

最后来看两个带context的题。

2 (b) Assess whether governments should always support the provision of merit goods in markets such as those for education or health care.这道题结构和考点都不清晰，我只能按照我的理解来给大家过一遍，内容仅供参考。

AO2: 为什么要support.这里不清楚的地方就是需不需要写怎么support? 那我们说过与其纠结不如全写下来。

1. Merit good is under-consumed2. Gov should support + method of support (subsidy)3. Education and healthcare are essential goods4. Gov should support + method of support (direct provision)AO2: 为什么不要support.1. Opportunity cost of governemnt spending2. Not targeted3. Problems of direct provision (low quality, shortage)

AO3: 要不要support?Criteria: fiscal space, income level, degree of support- 如果政府有钱那可以support, 因为不影响未来的growth rate.- Low income country对应很低的human capital，support以后带来经济增长tax revenue上升可以覆盖掉gov spending; High income country不会再有高速增长, gov花钱很难有足够多的汇报.- Direct provision 被证明很难持续 (英国NHS), targeted support更好4(a) Explain why expenditure on education and training is a supply-side policy and consider why its impact on the general price level may differ between the short run and the long run.

结构: 3+5; SSP, Education增加 LRAS (AO1); SR/LR impact (AO2); 比较 (AO3)AO2: SR对price level的影响写AD上升；LR对price level的影响写LRAS上升。AO3: depends on state of economy/effectiveness; LR还有其他因素影响price level所以overall impact uncertain.
