UWC常熟申请指南

常熟UWC（United World College Changshu China）是一所国际化的高中，致力于通过多元化教育培养具有全球视野、社会责任感和创新精神的青年。学校提供一年制的FP课程（10年级）和两年制的IBDP课程（11-12年级），课程设置兼顾学术深度与实践能力。

学生不仅能选择超过50门IBDP课程实现个性化学习，还可参与“未来思维”项目式课程以及诺奖创新坊等特色学术项目，亲身体验科学研究和创新实践。学校注重学生全面发展，鼓励独立思考、跨学科探究和社会参与，旨在培养未来的全球公民。

课程设置：

常熟UWC的FP课程（10年级）为期一年，专为激发学生学习兴趣而设计，同时培养独立思考和自我管理能力，为未来的IBDP学习打下坚实基础。其中亮点之一是学校自主研发的“未来思维”（Futures Foresight）课程。通过项目式学习和学生主导的探究，学生将关注现实问题，并尝试运用科技与创新方法寻找解决方案。这种思维训练不仅能提升问题解决能力，也能灵活应用到各学科的学习中。

进入11-12年级，IBDP课程提供超过50门学科供学生选择，真正实现个性化学习。除了核心学科，学校还开设设计科学、计算机科学、哲学、电影、戏剧、心理学等多样化课程，满足不同兴趣和未来发展方向。

同时，常熟UWC为学生提供“诺奖创新坊”项目，为期10个月。在诺贝尔奖得主的指导下，学生可以深度参与前沿研究，亲身体验科学创新的魅力，并与顶尖科学家直接交流。

申请要求及申请时间：

常熟UWC没有学籍和户籍的限制，学生申请不需要提供托福、雅思等标化考试成绩。参加过中考的10年级在读的申请者，需提供中考成绩。招收9-12级学生，9年级在读学生或未参加中考的申请者，无需提供。

UWC是实施邀请制的学校，即学校会先通过文书、在校成绩单等材料筛选一批学生。

1. Dinner with Kurt HahnImagine there is a time machine that takes you back to 1962, giving you the chance to have dinner with Kurt Hahn. What would you talk to him about? If you could ask him three questions, what would they be and why? Now, imagine this time machine brings Kurt Hahn to 2025. What would you want to share with him? What question(s) do you think he would ask you, and why?

2. Learning in the AI EraThe Analects of Confucius state that “知之者不如好之者，好之者不如乐之者.” This progressive relationship reveals three states of learning. Today in the era of AI, while knowledge can be quickly acquired through the internet, achieving “乐之” may be humanity’s unique competitive advantage. What are your personal thoughts on this? Based on your real-life experiences, please provide one or two examples to illustrate.

3. Seeds You Bring to the UWC CommunityEvery UWC student is like a traveler carrying unique seeds. Describe a specific value, custom, or mindset from your home culture or experiences that you wish to transplant to the UWC community. Why is it precious? How will you help it take root in UWC soil?
