美国数学邀请赛(American Invitational Mathematics Examination)是一项面向中学生的数学竞赛,起始于1983年。该竞赛有15道问题,考试时间为3小时。AMC10前2.5%和AMC12前5%的学生有资格参加美国数学邀请赛。和美国数学竞赛、美国数学奥林匹克共同作为选拔国际数学奥林匹克美国队的赛事,该赛事处于选拔的第二级,胜出者方能参加下一级的美国数学奥林匹克比赛
绝大多数晋级AIME的选手是高中生,也有极少数顶尖的初中生可晋级AIME。从AMC 12晋级并在AIME中取得高分的选手将晋级USAMO(United States of America Mathematics Olympiad),而从AMC 10晋级并在AIME中取得高分的选手将晋级USAJMO(United States of America Junior Mathematics Olympiad)。
竞赛中通常涉及的概念包括初等代数、几何、三角学以及数论、概率和组合学等主题。其中许多概念在典型的高中数学课程中并没有直接涉及;因此,参赛者往往求助于补充资源来准备比赛。
每一个正确的答案可得一分,错误的答案不扣分。不给予部分积分。因此AIME的分数是0到15(含)的整数。
