John Locke写作竞赛
John Locke写作竞赛是一个面向中学生的人文课题论文竞赛，每年一次，由位于英国牛津的独立教育组织John Locke Institute与英国牛津大学和美国普林斯顿大学等名校联合举办。
来自全世界的中学生都可以参加，竞赛的形式为选择一道题目，完成一篇不超过2000字的论文。意在考察学生在不同学科领域内的基本知识结构，写作能力，独立思考能力，以及逻辑性和辩证分析能力。
在比赛中获得Distinction可以大幅提升美国和英国大学本科申请金成功率。近半数获奖者能最终进入普林斯顿、哈佛、耶鲁、斯坦福、牛津、剑桥等世界顶级名校！

2 2024John Locke论文竞赛评选标准&细则
适合人群
18岁以下的同学均可参加
比赛分为14岁-18岁的高年级组和14岁以下的低年级组（Junior Prize）
作品要求
字数限制：2000字
Each essay should address only one of the questions in your chosen subject category,and must not exceed 2000 words (not counting diagrams, tables of data,footnotes, bibliography or authorship declaration).
学生可以提交多篇论文，每篇论文只能对应一个题目
作品提交方式论文以PDF格式提交，通过比赛官网提交 PDF附件的标题名必须采用以下格式：名字-姓氏-类别-问题编号.pdf

竞赛奖励来自牛津大学的资深教师担任评委。每年竞赛会评选出一篇最佳文章（Best Essay）高年级组以每个话题为单位（哲学、政治、经济、历史、心理、神学、法律），每个话题会评选出优秀上榜文章，并从中选出一、二、三等奖（学科奖）。
低年级组为一个参赛单位，评选出优秀上榜文章，并从中选出一、二、三等奖。只有上榜文章的学生会获得参赛证书。
·每个学科的最佳作品奖，将获得2000美元的奖学金
·最佳论文的候选人将获得John Locke学院荣誉青年奖学金
·获奖论文将会在John Locke 学院的网站上发表，颁奖仪式将在牛津举行，获奖者将能够会见评审和John Locke研究所的其他教员
·一般来说，学科类奖项获奖人数为一名
获奖难度
自2020年以来，参加John Locke写作比赛的人数逐步增长，2022年共计6800多份投稿，2022年的参赛人数已是2020年的250%，今年投稿人数更是有望突破万人大关！
竞赛共有七大主题，分别为哲学、政治、经济学、历史、心理学、神学和法律。
据统计，2022年6800多份投稿中，以经济学为主题的投稿数量最多，共计1681份，但获奖比例只能排在7大主题的中间位置；以神学为主题的投稿获奖比例最高，但投稿数量是最少的。
值得注意的是，没有任何一个主题的获奖比例能超过10%
这也意味着，竞赛中获奖的难度很大，准备参赛的同学们一定要认真打磨自己的作品，好让自己的文章脱颖而出。而John Locke官方将会根据对相关材料的理解、论文质量、原创性、写作风格等方面的能力进行评判。

第一次会议：

论文初稿指导
每位学生提交论文初稿（2000字）。
第二次会议：针对初稿，纠正思路，补充文献引用。
