This week, we discussed the importance of role models and opinion makers in society. One idea we discussed was the widespread impact of "influencers." Influencers are people who are very active posting on social media and who have many followers. Influencers' posts and opinions can influence their followers' choices on everything from fashion to politics.In your opinion, do social media influencers generally have a positive or negative effect on their followers? Why do you think so?
Kelly:I think the influencers' effect is generally positive. People can learn about the latest trends and topics in a very quick and efficient way by following influencers. In the past, people had to spend time looking through magazines or visiting boutiques to even know what was trending.Paul:I think influencers generally have a negative effect because they have far too much influence. I can think of one influencer who only has to mention a particular kind of sports shoe, and the next day they'll be sold out. The followers aren't really thinking for themselves; they're just blindly following the influencers' choices.审题注意点:

总的来说，教授的内容一般都是很工整的：回顾+引入话题/话题定义解释+提出问题.

Kelly:积极. 因为让人很快地知道现在的潮流trends、话题topics . + 【对比】以前，需要花很长时间看报纸，逛店.
👩🏻🏫Eva说：Kelly 的观点比较简单和正面.展开通过对比or举例也很容易。大家可以采纳。比如，很多fashion blogger时尚博主，科技博主等. 让我知道了最新的趋势，购买到了满意的产品。

Paul:消极. 因为影响太大了。【举例】有一位网红提到了一款球鞋，结果第二天就卖光了，因为粉丝只是无脑跟随/被“割韭菜”.(The followers aren’t really thinking for themselves; they are just blindly following the influencers’ choices.)
👩🏻🏫Eva说：Paul的观点理由其实说得有些隐晦。从后面的例子中大家可以反推，是网红影响力太大了，导致粉丝购买了自己根本不需要的产品。所以他们这么大的影响力是有害的。这主要是从-广告/推销/钱-的角度来分析.
建议大家同意Paul说的观点，阐述清晰一些：
1. 他们的影响是消极的。因为他们会偷偷接一些广告/资助，宣传一些根本不实用的产品，导致粉丝无脑购买，浪费钱. 比如…(这里可以使用写作团的语料: (when people see clothes, cosmetics, a car, or a holiday being plugged by someone they admire and respect, they might be swayed into buying it. )
其他可行的观点：
1. 错误言论影响人：因为网红可能famous for nothing/以不知道什么原因就火起来了。他们本身并没有什么特别智慧，也并不是什么领域的专家。所以他们的很多言论，建议，尤其是生活，政治方面的，就是错误的，对粉丝有很大的误导性，造成严重的伤害。比如,卡戴珊家族等提倡不吃碳水减肥…

思路：我认为是个好影响。因为人们生活很忙，当购买商品的时候没那么多时间去仔细充分了解产品，所以关注一些相关的专业的influencers，看他们的介绍和推荐，可以非常快地选择适合自己的产品。 所以是总的来说是个好影响。

Living in a fast-paced world, individuals struggle tokeep up with the latest trends, products, and ideas.That's where influencerscome into the picture.Take, for instance, a time when I needed a new computer for work purposes.I sought advice from a professional tech Vlogger. In one of his videos, he offered comprehensive analysis of the popular computers in the market, rating them based on a variety of aspects like functionality and performance. Relying on his expertise saved me considerable time and energy that would have been spent on doing the research myself. I chose the MacBook, which turned out to be light enough to carry around and user-friendly enough for my needs as a frequent traveler.In conclusion,the ability of influencers to attract millions of followers is due to their expertise in their respective fields. Their deep understanding of these fields empowers followers to make wise decisions, saving them time and effort.This demonstrates the invaluable role of influencers in our busy modern lives.

Every generation faces a unique set of social problems that it must solve. The question is how do we best prepare people to solve future problems? Some people believe that to solve any social problem, it is essential to study history and learn from it. Others disagree. in your opinion, do we have to study history in order to solve the problems we will face in the future? why or why not?
Kelly:I think it is essential that we study history. l forget the exact quotation, but it's been said that if citizens don't understand history, societies will just repeat the same mistakes they made in the past, And l agree with that. l recently watched a historical movie, and l saw many connections with the problems we are facing today.Paul:My concern is that history can be presented in a biased way. Events might not be recorded as they actually happened. Historians might exaggerate or downplay the importance of certain things, and they might not show the whole picture or all points of view, Although l like studying history, the lessons learned are usually insufficient for solving today's complex problems.审题注意点:
这道题比较抽象，很难。
所以我第一时间加入了写作团，在day4/3-brainstorm知识点讲解中专门分析了这一道题目。写作团的同学应该觉得容易一些。
1. in order to solve… —限定目的.
2. we should understand the past:了解过去/历史对解决现在/未来问题的帮助.
(熟悉中国近代史的同学都知道: 洋人的钱好借不好还啊！)
⚠️ 注意：这里的the past,很多同学很自然地想到是：过去的成功/失败的经验、历史。其实，也可以指就是以前发生的事情，所以可以分析出一个论点：understand the past能帮我们追根溯源，发现现在问题的起因。
3. 可行的观点：总观点：同意。
分论点：
①能提供成功的经验。
②避免犯相同的错误。
③明白过去也能更好地帮助我们找到现在问题的根源所在。
Or:总观点：不同意。
分论点：
①社会已经变化很大了，所以了解过去对现在没有帮助。
②每个人所面对的个体情况不一样，知道过去也可能无法帮助自己解决自己所面对的问题。③我们很难知道过去/历史的真实情况，所以对现在问题的解决帮助也不大。
二.写作难点在于，很多同学可能找不到相关的例子
(1) the problem at present or in the future 可用语料：
--宏观的社会问题：写作团day18:国家社会问题：医疗，保护濒危物种和打击恐怖分子...day19：环境问题：酸雨,雾霾,能源短缺...
--也可以联想现实生活中个人生活中的问题：生活越来越忙碌；人际关系越来越淡漠/男女朋友分手; 学生们的学习压力越来越大；现在父母都喜欢鸡娃; 毕业生很难找工作...
(2) understand the past 可用语料:
--比如解决能源危机，可以借鉴以前别国使用提升能源价格方法(写作团day19语料). 如何解决经济危机,可以学习美国Great Depression中所采用的方法,给人们提供工作，新建基础设施等等。
--如果是个人生活的问题, 可以想到，现在的生活已经跟过去很不一样了，所以没有用。比如，过去的人找工作，是通过报纸上的招聘广告，但是现在已经没有了。
--追寻现在问题的历史起因：很多父母对孩子学习很苛刻的原因是这些父母本身曾经吃过没读书的亏。某个学生很孤僻可能是因为小时候被校园暴力过bully.
参考思路：
思路1：同意。 因为学习过去可以给我们解决现在的问题提供很多可以借鉴的经验（Understanding the past can help us address present and future challenges more effectively by providing us with valuable lessons.）。
因为很多问题都很相似(Many issues recur throughout history, such as energy shortage or economic crises)。比如现在我们面对的能源危机，每隔一段时间都会遭受suffer from的经济危机economic crisis, 这些问题都在历史上发生过并得的了有效的解决。比如，可以通过学习美国在大萧条时期的做法, 新建大型的基础设施，比如水坝，公路等…(During the Great Depression in the 1930s, the U.S. government responded by investing heavily in infrastructure, such as highways and dams, to creat jobs and stimulate economic growth.)
思路2：同意。Understanding the past can help us detect the hidden causes behind problems at present or in the future. Only when us figure out the true causes of a problem can we solve the problemat root.
比如，一个从小被严厉的父母逼迫学习的孩子可能到成年后都无法原谅他们的父母，但是当他们知道父母是因为曾经因为没有读到大学而遭受了不公平待遇所以才会这样，他们可能就会释然…
