【学术讨论】

Doctor Diaz:

This week, we will be discussing retail sales. One popular model of retail is "superstores"-very large stores, typically owned by corporations-that sell many kinds of different products. We will compare this business model to local retailers,typically small or specialized stores with localowners, such as a camera shop or a small neighborhood grocery store. Do you think it ismore beneficial for people to shop at small localstores rather than at superstores? Why or why?

Kelly:

Shopping at small local stores benefits consumers in manyways. One of the benefits is that small stores often offer betterservices than large stores. For example, if you need yourbicycle repaired, usually the small shop can do it right there inthe shop. At the large stores, they have to send it to themanufacturer to be repaired.

Andrew:

Although l understand the importance of shopping at small stores to support the local community, there are obvious benefits to shopping at superstores. Because large retailers procure products in bulk, they can offer their customers awide variety of products, usually at low prices. So, by shoppingat large stores, consumers get better value for their money.

B卷

【综合写作】

地球细菌是否来源于外星?

阅读反对

1.高温灭菌:尽管小行星或陨石的碰撞可能为细菌提供了离开原行星的机会,但撞击过程中岩石的极端加热很可能导致内部的细菌死亡;

2.营养与辐射的双重挑战:即使细菌能够离开原行星,长时间的太空旅行中缺乏必要的营养物质和持续的宇宙辐射,使得细菌的存活变得极为困难;

3.大气层的屏障:当细菌随岩石穿越地球大气层时,遭遇的高温和高压环境会彻底摧毁它们,使得细菌难以在地球着陆。

听力支持

1.冲击波下的幸存者:在行星间的碰撞中,部分细菌可能因远离撞击中心而幸存,被冲击波抛入太空,且生命迹象未息;

2.太空中的坚韧生存者:细菌具有在极端条件下保护自己的能力,这使得它们在太空旅行中存活下来的可能性大大增加;

3.科学实验的证据:科学家的实验表明,在某些恶劣环境下,并非所有细菌都会被杀死,这为细菌的星际旅行提供了可能性。

【学术讨论】

Dr. Diaz

Today, we are going to discuss consumer behaviorism in relation to technological products. When it comes to the choice between old and new products, some young people tend to choose traditional products over the latest technologies. When considering these preferences, it's essential to understand why some individuals reject new technologies. What do you think is the most important factor that causes young people to reject new technologies?

Claire

I think cost is a key reason why young people might reject new technologies. New tech products can be really expensive. Old mechanical things might be cheaper and cost less to fix if they break. So, for young people who might not have a lot of money, cost is definitely an important factor.

Paul

I believe the most important reason is that young people might not be used to new technologies. Learning how to use new tech can be difficult and take a lot of time. Old mechanical products are often easier to use. So, some young people might stick with old stuff because it's what they know and are comfortable with.
