4、concrete和steel，concrete的延展性不强，用了塑料袋做个例子。但是耐压，用了椅子做例子。steel的话刚好反过来；将concrete和steel合在一起就正好可以弥补各自的问题。因为他们可以在比较slight的范围内收缩和延展。而且他们延展的ratio是一样的。但是对于一些environmental impact比较强的地方，他们就不行，会很容易corrode，举一个例子就是在海边salty的环境下面。最后说现在有stainless steel和glass fiber。但这太贵了。

Doctor Gupta More and more, Automation is a much-discussed topic in economics, one that continues to grow in importance with today's advances in robotics and artificial intelligence(Al). Robots and Al provide powerful ways to replace human labor by doing work better and faster than people can. Automation can have very positive effects on businesses and the broader economy, but there are disadvantages as well. What do you think? ls the use of automation a positive development overall? Why or why not?
Paul： I think the use of automation is a positive development. If Al and robots are used to replace human workers, companies will be able to produce many more products than they do now. They can also lower costs, making those products cheaper for people to buy. As a result, everyone will have access to more affordable products.
Kelly： I worry about the psychological effects on people as Al and robots take over work. I doubt humans will really be happy with ever-greater amounts of leisure time. Many of us derive satisfaction from working and doing our jobs well. In fact, never in human history have we been able to spend large parts of our days labor-free.

For example, a speaker discussing teamwork could share a personal experience, making the message more relatable and powerful.

I think straightforward communication is usually better because it helps speakers achieve their purpose more clearly. Stories can be interesting, but they may also distract the audience from the main point. In a professional meeting, for instance, people often need clear facts, direct explanations, and specific recommendations.

Today in our economics class, we are discussing minimum wage laws, which require employers to pay workers at least a certain hourly rate. Supporters argue that these laws help reduce poverty and improve workers' quality of life. Do you believe minimum wage laws are good for the economy? Why or why not?
Paul
Ibelieve minimum wage laws are generally good for the economy because they give workers more spending power. Forexample, if low-income workers earn more, they may buy more food, clothing, and services, which helps local businesses. A fair wage can also reduce stress and improve worker productivity.
Claire
I disagree because minimum wage laws can hurt small businesses. If are restaurant must pay every worker more, it might raise prices, reduce hours, or hire fewer people. This could make it harder for inexperienced workers to find jobs, so the policy may create problems while trying to solve others.
