Targeted on-site training is equipping faculty to align teaching expectations and elevate student success as the new academic year approaches. The goal for ECE is to implement the Science of Reading framework, which offers research-based approaches to literacy and reading success. When teachers understand the science behind brain development, students tend to excel in reading and writing from an early age.
暑期培训引领教师们为新学年蓄力，统一教学步调，从而更好地托起孩子们的身心和学术成长。幼儿部今年组织老师们学习科学阅读框架，这套经过研究验证的体系，可以帮助激发孩子的读写潜能。当老师真正理解孩子的认知发展规律，就能在启蒙阶段帮助孩子打下扎实的语言基础。
Primary concentrated on how to interpret "PANDAS Value" that character development is recognized alongside academic achievement. Teachers participated in collaborative workshops sharing best practices in co-teaching dynamics, proactive classroom management, and effective student interventions. This peer-driven learning allowed teams to solidify concrete SMART goals for the year.

For Middle and High Schools, training emphasized strategic collaboration. Teachers worked closely with Deans and the College Counseling office to refine assessment strategies, discuss crafting compelling student recommendations, and reiterate the vital role of positive student rapport. Significant time was also dedicated to department-specific planning, allowing subject teams to establish consistent classroom routines.
初高中部的培训侧重于教学配合和联结。教师与学生督导及升学指导办公室密切协作，完善评估方案，探讨如何撰写高质量的学生推荐信，并进一步强化良性师生关系的重要性。各教研组还专门开展了针对性教研活动，建立规范统一的课堂常规。
Finally, underscoring the school's commitment to student safety, all faculty members completed AED and emergency response training, ensuring the entire community is prepared to act decisively in critical situations.
最后为实现学校对学生安全的一贯承诺，所有教职工均完成了AED（自动体外除颤器）与应急响应培训，确保所有校园社区成员在关键时刻能够果断采取行动，为学生安全保驾护航。

Having worked at many institutions—both in education and beyond—I've never experienced such a strong sense of community and genuine care. What stands out even more is the incredible willingness of everyone to support their colleagues. Whether over dinner or coffee, I've had the pleasure of connecting with people across departments, exchanging teaching philosophies, classroom strategies, and ideas on how to grow as educators.

Joining BIBCD this year, what impressed me most was the school's professional and practical training. At the summer institute, I exchanged ideas with teachers from different campuses. In addition to all-staff sessions, the school offered role-specific workshops. For example, during Chinese language teaching training, educators demonstrated model lessons and shared concrete strategies for classroom management. This collaborative setting helped me learn from experienced colleagues and gain insights valuable to my teaching practice. The training has provided me with practical tools that I'll definitely use in class. I look forward to applying what I've learned— supporting my students' growth while developing myself professionally.

Meeting colleagues with teaching experience from all over the world has been both inspiring and comforting. As we shared our backgrounds, we discovered a universal truth—children everywhere share many of the same strengths and challenges. The school feels like a true breath of fresh air. Several staff members have even offered to walk my dog, showing him the same kindness, patience, and affection, they've shown me. Summer Institute was not only incredibly helpful but also uniquely designed for our success, with every detail carefully and intentionally planned. Inside the auditorium, Head of School, Mr. Mark Sylte, and his team welcomed a full house of new and returning families. "Like muscles strengthened through strain," he shared, "we grow more resilient and adaptable. We must trust in our ability to heal—and in our children's courage to rise, overcome, and earn their own badges of bravery."

Last Sunday, the campus came alive during a "Welcome Party" for boarders, designed by our boarding department to welcome students back with heartfelt hospitality.

The event kicked off with each boarding student receiving a special "growth package" prepared by dorm parents: a succulent symbolizing responsibility and growth, paired with a handwritten card filled with earnest blessings from their teachers.
活动伊始，每位住宿生都收到了宿管老师们准备的“成长礼包”：一盆多肉植物，寓意着责任与生命的共同成长；一张手写贺卡，承载着师长们真挚的期许。
Senior boarder Eric S. hosted the event, where older students shared their boarding experiences, soothing the anxieties of newcomers. The Head of School and teachers from across disciplines participated throughout. True education extends beyond the classroom, residing in every dedicated presence. As Head of School said, boarding is challenging, yet it teaches children to plan their time and grow through difficulties. Parents can support them, like when they call at midnight about peer conflicts, by guiding patiently and offering encouragement.

Everyone was all smiles when they cut into a cake that marks a sweet beginning together. This moment wasn't just about welcoming everyone back—it was a way to cheer seniors on as they get ready to spread wings!

During the event, teachers outlined the students' autonomy this year, while also honestly addressing upcoming challenges—including a busy application season and graduation activities. Everyone is encouraged to approach the year with balance—stay relaxed yet focused, serious but not stressed.

The honor and growing responsibilities of the senior class were soon recognized in front of other grades. During the high school assembly, G12 students took the stage as the highlight of the event. As soon as they appeared, they were met with enthusiastic applause, genuine cheers, and warm encouragement from the younger students.

Finally, colorful streamers flew into the air amid everyone's cheers, falling like a soft shower of colors—symbolizing a fresh start and carrying everyone's excitement for the year ahead.
