Shanghai Hong Qiao International School was one of the first international schools in Shanghai. The school opened its doors in 1997 as a kindergarten. Today, HQIS provides 15 grade levels of high-quality comprehensive international education, from Nursery to High School.

上海虹桥国际外籍人员子女学校（HQIS）成立于1997年，是上海最早的国际学校之一。目前，HQIS已经发展成集幼儿园、小学、初高中于一体的综合性国际学校，为18个月-18岁的孩子提供一贯制纯正国际课程。建校以来，我们不断深耕国际教育领域，培养了大批具有全球视野的终身学习者。

Our Academics 课程概览

In our Upper School, we offer a holistic program based on American curriculum standards.Our Upper School curriculum is built around Project-Based Learning (PBL), where students engage in meaningful, hands-on projects that encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and real-world problem-solving.

HQIS offers AP Courses for High School students.AP subjects are college-level courses that require rigorous preparation, and that allow students to get ready for university beforehand by taking college-level tests. Students who choose AP courses have the opportunity to build and strengthen academic skills, such as critical thinking and analysis, that are essential in university.HQIS is also an official AP Test Center, and students can take AP exams at our school.HQIS is also an official AP Test Center, and students can take AP exams at our school.

自高中阶段起，学校通过精心设计的AP大学先修课程选修机制，赋予学生自主规划学业的权利，使其能够追随个人兴趣，定制专属的成长路径。

In order to provide outstanding students with more opportunities to be admitted to top universities, the school will integrate AP Capstone Diploma.We are one of approximately 2,000 schools worldwide offering the AP Capstone Diploma program.

Besides,HQIS is now a proud member ofGlobal Online Academy - GOA, a consortium of over 125 high-performing independent schools, representing30countries and over 30 states.

HQIS grants eligible and participating students credit for their involvement inGOA courses. Elective credits are awarded for summer courses, while semester and yearlong courses during the school year contribute either towardsgraduation requirements or elective credits, depending on the chosen course.

HQIS offers an immersive and truly holistic curriculum. Our small class size is the result of astudent-centered philosophyforauthentic personalized education. Our students are now able to learn throughProject-based Learning (PBL), which allows our students to learn throughrigorous exploration and analysis, exploring their own areas of interest and passions.

Project-Based Learningfocuses on developing students' ability tothink critically and creativelywhile collaborating on solving real-world problems across subject areas. Students participate in mixed groups from all grades in order to develop and respond to a Driving Question. As students work towards developing their response, they acquire relevant knowledge and skills, learn about project management and execution, critique and revise their work, present it to an authentic audience, and reflect on what they have learned.

HQIS is an official test center for different international standardized tests such as the SSAT, SAT, and AP tests.Our campus also hosts several prestigious international competitions, providing our students with opportunities to challenge themselves in the world of global academic competitiveness, which results in better academic preparation and enrichment.
