在七德，我们深信未来的领袖既在课堂中滋养成长，也在赛场上奋进磨砺。9月24日，本学期首场面向运动队长与经理的体育领导力工作坊在公共学习空间成功举办。各校队学生领袖齐聚一堂，在学工部的组织下，共同开启了一场关于全人发展与核心领导力的深度学习。
At Qibao Dwight High School, we believe in nurturing the leaders of tomorrow, both in the classroom and on the field. In line with this vision, this week on 24 September, the buzz in our school’s common areas wasn't just about upcoming games, but about building the foundations for a successful and united season. The Student Affairs department successfully hosted the first Sports Captains & Team Managers Leadership Workshop of the season, bringing together our student-athlete leaders for a dynamic session focused on holistic development and essential leadership skills.

Building on the success of last year's inaugural campaign series, this workshop underscores our school's commitment to developing not just skilled athletes, but well-rounded individuals equipped to lead both on and off the field. The focus was clear: to empower our captains and managers with the tools they need to foster communication, teamwork, and a positive team culture.

Wearing the captain's armband or managing a team is a privilege that comes with great responsibility. We expect our student leaders to exemplify integrity, respect, and sportsmanship at all times, setting the standard for their entire team.

The core of the workshop was led by our International Director of Student Affairs, Mr. Tshepiso ‘Coach’ Modise, who engaged the students in discussions and activities centered on the essence of leadership. He stressed the importance of viewing their roles beyond just athletic performance.

Our mission is to develop the whole person. Academic excellence is vital, but so is character. These leadership roles are a practical classroom for life skills—empathy, resilience, and the ability to inspire others. Before today, I believed a good leader only needed exceptional expertise. But now I realize they must also take responsibility for caring for their team members—like cheering after a missed shot instead of letting her shut down.
