容闳奖学金的由来
“中国留学生之父” 容闳先生曾道：“予意以为，予之一身既受此文明之教育，则当使后予之人，亦享此同等之利益”。
秉承容闳先生的开拓精神、爱国情怀，传承他以教育推动中国发展的夙愿，德闳教育于2021年设立了容闳奖学金项目，旨在激励更多心怀梦想、锐意进取、学术卓越的中国新生代，助力其成长为推动中国乃至全球进步的未来之才。我们不仅帮助学生升入理想的大学，更致力于帮助他们塑造美好未来。
容闳
1828年，容闳出生于中国广东一户贫农家。当时，读书是一个农民眼中最没有意义的事，容闳的父亲却将他送至澳门一所学校读书。这标志着容闳“留学生之父”征途的开始，助力他在1854年成为耶鲁大学毕业的第一个中国学生。
已获得容闳奖学金的德闳学子不仅在学术上有优异的表现，而且还彰显了独特的个人品质，例如开拓精神、领袖能力、思辨精神等。他们中有不少都是德闳的创校生。他们有的已经毕业前往牛津大学、加州大学伯克利分校、南加大、帕森斯设计学院、斯沃斯莫尔文理学院等知名学府深造，传承并弘扬容闳精神。

Applications Open for the 2026-2027 Yung Wing Scholarship
The scholarship application for the 2026-2027 academic year is now officially open. Shanghai Dehong Scholarship Program not only serves as a testament to individual excellence but also enhances applicants' university application portfolios. We welcome outstanding students—both current Dehong students and those from other schools—who demonstrate academic excellence, strong character, collaboration skills, and leadership qualities to apply.
Scholarship Types
1. Yung Wing Full Scholarship
- 100% tuition reduction for high school.
- Awarded to students with the highest overall academic achievements.
- 2. Yung Wing Half Scholarship
- 50% tuition reduction for high school.
- Awarded to academically outstanding students who also demonstrate the following traits and qualities:
- 1) Earhart Scholarship: Students who embody values of fairness and equality.
- 2) Shackleton Scholarship: Students with exceptional pioneering spirit.
- 3) Qi Baishi Scholarship: Students who exhibit creativity and expressiveness.
- 4) Deng Jiaxian Scholarship: Students excelling in innovation and creativity in the field of science.
3. Academic Excellence Scholarship
- 25% tuition reduction for high school.
- Awarded to academically outstanding students who embody Dehong’s values.
Eligibility
Students entering Grade 10 (Year 1 of Senior High School) or Grade 11 (Year 2 of Senior High School) in the next academic year, including both current Dehong students and external applicants, are eligible to apply.

Step 2: Internal preliminary evaluation
Step 3: Final internal evaluation(*applicable only to full scholarship applicants)
Application Method
- Scholarship application form
- A personal statement in English (within 500 words)
- For non-Dehong students, additional documentation from the previous school is required.
