Dr. Achebe:

Let's continue talking about consumer behavior. We have been discussing different ways people go about choosing what products to buy, and there are many potential sources of information and advice for consumers. In your opinion, which is the better strategy for making purchasing decisions, relying on advice from friends and family, or depending on information from online sources? Why?

1. “recommendations from friends or colleagues”

2.online search(for example, TV, magazines, newspapers):

而人们看到衣服,化妆品,汽车被自己信任的推荐的话,就会被影响去购买(when people see clothes, cosmetics, a car, or a holiday being plugged by someone they admire and respect, they might be swayed into buying it.

I align myself with Paul’s argument.

I find myself in agreement with Paul's assertion that seeking and considering recommendations from friends and colleagues is an effective strategy. This is because these are individuals who are familiar with my specific needs.Take, for instance, a time when I needed a new computer for work purposes.Initially, I delved into an online search, sifting through advice from professional experts and popular influencers. These sources offered comprehensive analysis of the popular computers in the market, rating them based on a variety of aspects like functionality and performance. Despite dedicating hours to perusing their reviews, I still could not decide which one was suitable for me. However, the situation turned around when I consulted my colleagues, who, like me, travel a lot. They all instantly suggested the MacBook, because it is light enough to carry around and user-friendly enough to use. I then made the purchase in a minute. In conclusion, while media sources, be it professional experts or influencers, may possess an in-depth understanding of products, the advice of friends and colleagues, who know me personally, tends to be more beneficial. Thus we should prioritize their recommendations.(188字)

Dr. Achebe:

Today, I'd like to discuss choices people make interms of where they decide to live. Some people choose to spend their entire lives in one town or city. Others leave their hometowns and might even move several times from one town or city to another. i'd like to get your thoughts on this subject.Do you think it is better to live in one town or city all your life? Why or why not?

I believe settling in one location for life can hinder personal growth.A primary disadvantage is the potential limitation on an individual’s opportunities for development. Each place offers finite chances and resources, which might restrict one’s ability to fully realize their potential.Take Lang Lang, the renowned pianist, as an example. His musical talent might have remained undiscovered, had he not left his small, remote hometown lacking in specialized music education.

Similarly,Elon Musk, now among the wealthiest entrepreneurs, might not have founded transformative companies like Tesla and SpaceX had he stayed in South Africa, a developing country, instead of pursuing education and business opportunities in the United States, a nation with a mature market. These examples illustrate that individuals with ambition should not confine themselves to one place for their entire lives. Instead, they should actively seek environments that can best support their aspirations and satisfy their needs for success.

keeping looking and don't settle.

Dr. Gupta

One social phenomenon we discussed recently is this: when a person is in some trouble, some people help that person, while many others do nothing. Some people conclude that inaction-that is, doing nothing-makes the world a worse place. In your post, please discuss the causes or the effects of this social phenomenon; in other words, what are some reasons why people might choose not to help others, or what are some results of this inaction?

(2) inaction-that is, doing nothing:

(3)what are some reasons why people might choose not to help others, or what are some results of this inaction?:

很多人都忙于自己的上班工作,学业等,也有自己的经济压力(people are overwhelmed by their own responsibilities)... 突然看到有人需要帮忙,比如送去医院(someone need a ride to the hospital),帮助老人过马路(an elderly person crossing the street), 向灾区捐款(a charity campaign)...

(bystanders often hesitate because they donot have the necessary first-aid knowledge or training.)
