In the next few weeks, we'll be talking about urban traffic management. Let's begin by discussing one popular idea--creating car-free central zones. Some cities around the world have recently designated their downtown areas as being automobile-free which means that vehicles are not allowed to enter the city centers.Do you think that more cities should make their central zones car-free?Why and why not?
Claire:
I support the idea of establishing car-free central zones because this will result in one important benefit for city residents-it will be better for their health. Instead of driving everywhere, people will be encouraged to walk or cycle more. It would be a great way to incorporate exercise into people's routines.
Paul:
It sounds like a good idea, but I'm skeptical. My mian concern is that many businesses located in the city centers, such as shops and restaurants, may suffer because th customers will no longer be able to reach those businesses by car. For some customers, if they cann't drive, they won't go at all.
1."designated their downtown areas as being automobile-free which means that vehicles are not allowed to enter the city centers."
(Peopleare loaded withbags from stores, only to realizethat they have to walk a considerable distance to reach their parked car. This inconvenience might discourage people from shopping in those areas altogether.)👩🏻🏫:这也是Paul的思路,比较好写,大家可以同意。
Istrongly support this policy of establishing car-free zones in more cities. This is because such a policy canbenefit both pedestrians and drivers. In busy downtown areas, drivers often find them either stuck in a traffic jam or struggling to finda vacant parking spot/place. Meanwhile, pedestrians face challenges from fast-moving traffic and long queues of cars thatblock crosswalks(人行道),making crossing the road impossible while waiting for the traffic lights..By implementing a car-free zone, drivers might be encouraged to utilize public transport or even walk, reducing congestion. Pedestrians can enjoy safer and more relaxedstrolls, enhancing the overall urban experience. This policy, while requiring proper planning, could lead to a more sustainable and pleasant urban environment.
Itotally applaud this policy of establishing car-free zones in more cities. This is because this policy helps to improve the environment downtown. Without the large number of private cars stuck there, the toxic exhaust they emit will be reduced to a minimum....

Some arguethat owning a phone at an early age helps children stay connected, learn responsibility, and even improve safety. Others believe it can harm their social development, distract them from studies, and expose them to inappropriate online content. What is your opinion?
This week we covered different parenting stylesOne ideawe discussed was how much independence and freedomwe should give our children, especially young children. One related issue is whether there should be an age limiton when children can have mobile phones. In thisdiscussion post, l would like you to discuss whether youagree or disagree with the idea of setting a minimum agefor when children can have a mobile phone. Explain youropinion.
By setting an age limit, parents can encourage children to engage in outdoor activities and physical play.
(Limiting exposure to social media can protect younger children frombullying and online harassment.)
比如会晚一点到校接孩子(running late to pick them up from school.)。 (This necessity becomes even morepronouncedwith younger children.)
I believe children under the age of 12 should not be allowed to own a phone.I am concerned that younger children could easily become obsessed with their phones, which would hamper their physical development. Young children, especially those under 12, often lack self-control. When faced with a virtual world full of well-designed games, fashionable idols, and platforms where they can comment on whatever they like, they would be very likely to indulge themselves in it andforgo time they might otherwise spend playing football with friends or constructing a Lego building. It is well known that too little physical activity can lead to weight gain and shortsightedness. For example ... In conclusion...(或者是写作团语料:手机上精心设计的游戏,多样的娱乐信息,能轻易地把孩子们拴在沙发上好几个小时...)
