Overall, visiting friends and family was the most common reason for travel at all four airports, whereas 'other' purposes accounted for the smallest share of passengers. The dominant purpose varied between airports: holiday trips made up the majority at Gatwick, visiting friends and family accounted for roughly half of passengers at Luton and Stansted, and Heathrow's traffic was more evenly distributed.
