开始段 - 改写题目+总结
The bar chart compares the proportions of 25- to 34-year-old men and women who held higher-education qualifications in five countries in 2001. Overall, men were more likely than women to have higher-education qualifications in Japan, Switzerland and Britain, whereas the reverse was true in the United States and Germany. Switzerland recorded the highest figure for males, while the proportions of qualified females were greatest in the United States and Germany.
第一段 - 男性比例更高的三国
Among the three countries where men outnumbered women in terms of higher-education qualifications, Switzerland showed the most pronounced difference. Approximately 45% of Swiss males had such qualifications, compared with 35% of females. Britain displayed a smaller gap, with the corresponding figures standing at around 35% and 30%. Japan had the lowest percentages in this group and also the narrowest gender difference, at roughly 30% for men and 28% for women.
第二段 - 女性比例更高的两国
A contrasting pattern can be seen in the United States and Germany. In the former, about 45% of women had obtained higher-education qualifications, compared with just over 40% of men. The gender disparity was considerably wider in Germany, where the female figure also reached 45%, while the proportion for males was only 35%.
