Well, for me debate is the solid foundation on which I strengthen my capabilities, for all JWSD debaters, please focus on your core skills that win rounds and explain why your arguments matters. And more importantly, your rebuttals target the weakest links not every point. Stay calm and stay clear and make every minute count, thrill to witness your hard work pay off. I always recommend students to get involved, because being involved in speech and debate develops skills such as critical thinking, speaking with purpose, and it will also make you a really good listener. Not even that, it will also allow you to be very persuasive and really understand what words you need to communicate to the audience that you're speaking to depending on the outcome that you want， it's a great experience, and for those of you that are getting involved in the NHSDLC Nationals, I wish you the best of luck, give it your all regardless of the outcome, be very proud of the work that you put in and the effort that you gave. And that being said, I wish you the best in this specific competition, and in life in general.

I was a public forum debater back in 2019 to 2021, and became a judge since 2021 till now for more than 20 tournaments. The National Championship is about to come, I wish you all good luck, but always remember apart from the competition itself, it's a good chance to gain your skills in terms of research, evidence evaluation, speech skills and definitely engage into the real world. In the future, you eventually find how this helps you in your schools and absolutely colleges. And what's more important, just cherish this chance, experience it, cause these things come together build up the best years of life with good memories. All the best debaters, see you then!

Congratulations on making it to the NHSDLC Nationals Championship! This year that is a huge accomplishment. Speech and debate is such a wonderful activity to participate in. And to continue building and growing your skills in, not only helps with your confidence and public speaking skills, but also helps you develop further logic, reasoning and critical thinking skills, which are also deeply important in the study and age. So best of luck at the competition, give it your all, give it your best, but also make sure to enjoy the experience and to make some friends along the way, good luck!

I just want to say good luck to all the teams competing in the National Championship, please make sure that you adhere to the rules of the NHSDLC, and make sure that you listen carefully during the debates if your opponent says anything that you doubt, and that you think is suspicious. Please be proactive to ask for a card check. Please make sure that you rebut your opponent's points effectively with statistical evidence and data, and please never ever agree with anything that the opponent says and also try to do comparisons in your speech between your points and the opponents' points, so that the judges can see clearly who is winning the debate. And with this, I just want to say good luck to all the teams again and see you guys in the National Championship.

During my seven years of judging, I believe some of the things that I can see or tell the contestants for national tournaments. Since I judge a lot of national tournaments, I think the national tournaments are a little bit different than the regional tournaments, because this is basically clash of the best of the best. So my advice to you is to prepare more than what you did the last time, also be able to follow the rules that have been set by the organizers of the tournament.And for debaters, it is very important for you to be confident, also own your communication skills, provide the evidence and launch it, weigh the impact that is required.Good luck to everyone, and I hope to see you at the summer next month!
基于过去七年的执裁经验，我有以下这些建议想分享给选手们，尤其是参加国赛的选手。在我看来，全国性比赛与地区性比赛有许多不同，在全国性的赛事中基本上都是顶尖选手之间的对决。因此，我的建议是：大家一定要比上次准备得更加充分，同时要严格遵守联赛方制定的规则。对于辩手而言，自信至关重要，你们必须掌握沟通技巧，并能够提供证据、阐述观点、评估影响，这是必不可少的。祝大家好运，期待下个月在夏季赛事中与你们再见！
Going forward in this coming championship， I will first of all want to congratulate you for qualifying for this championship，and one encouragement i will give you in debate is that you need to work hard, because you're coming to meet the best of the best from different cities, from different tournaments teams that have won, and they are just coming to meet the champions to see who would win the champions of champions. so just work hard and do a lot of research about the topic, and then also make sure you work as a team. Build on your team working ability and skills, and then we'll see how things will go. But prepare to really give your best.
