2021年仅约4,000人参与，到2025年已飙升到63,328人，增长超过16倍。这说明全球越来越多学生关注学术性写作赛事，而不仅仅是理工竞赛。

其中2023年是拐点：人数从6,805→19,104，一跃进入万人级竞赛规模。
虽然绝对入围人数在增长，但入围率却总体下降：
- 2021年22.8 %
- 2024年最低16.9%
- 2025年小幅回升至18.65 %
这说明随着参赛基数扩大，组织方为了保持学术严苛性和质量筛选标准，并不是简单按比例放宽入围。
2026赛程关键时间点（参考2025年）
- 注册时间：2026年4月初开启，5月底截止
- 提交截止：2026年6月底
- 延迟提交截止：2026年7月
- 通知入围：2026年7月底
- 学术会议&颁奖晚宴：2026年10月
