A2微观的考题有四大块内容：consumer theory, market structure, market failure以及labour market。如果按照教科书的顺序学，会非常痛苦。比如教科书一上来就先讲了productive efficiency，然后说PE是在average cost of production的最低点。
先不说这是完全不对的（PE知识点的传送门：A2经济 | Productive efficiency），大家刚上A2，还完全不知道什么是ac，也不知道为什么ac的图长这样。要讲PE，好歹先说一下ac是什么？往下看，课本说了competitive market会有PE。
这个就更离谱了。AS大家只学了demand and supply，而A2一上来就给你一个这么复杂的图。这真的合理吗？类似的问题还有很多很多，这里就不一一举例了。
A2经济的内容虽然确实不简单，但如果按照教科书的顺序自学，就会人为地给自己创造额外的困难。今天我给大家介绍一下我的教学顺序，希望对大家的学习有所帮助。
1. Consumer theory
这块知识点是完全独立的，我们放在第一章学。这章的重点是用utility theory和indifference theory推demand curve。对于后面的知识点来说，大家只要知道demand curve = marginal utility curve = marginal benefit curve即可。
2. Production and cost
这块内容是market structure和market failure这两个章节的基础。学习顺序非常重要：
1. Short-run production/cost，重点掌握MC和AC的形状
2. Long-run production/cost，重点掌握LRAC的形状
3. Revenue and profit，重点掌握price-taker和price-maker的revenue curve，economic profit和accounting profit的不同，三种不同的profit，以及shut down rule
4. Efficiency，重点掌握productive efficiency，allocative efficiency，dynamic efficiency，以及Pareto optimality
如果要学profit，那至少要知道revenue和cost；如果要学productive efficiency，那至少要知道各种cost curves；如果要学allocative efficiency，那至少要知道mb和mc。这也是为什么大家一定要遵循这个学习顺序的原因。

3. Market structure
对于每个market structure，我们都需要知道behaviour以及performance。
- Behavior指的是firm怎么compete (pricing/non-pricing strategy，以及equilibrium)。
- Performance指的是efficiency (PE,AE,DE)和consumer welfare (price, choice, quality)
无论是画图还是分析，都需要用到cost，profit以及efficiency的概念。因此，只有先学完第二章，才可以学market structure。
Market structure的第二部分内容是strategies and growth。
学习顺序：
1. Pricing strategy (price discrimination, limit pricing, predatory pricing)
2. Objectives (profit maximisation, sales maximisation, sales revenue maximisation)
3. Contestable market
4. Growth of firm
知识点和课本对照表：
4. Labour market
在学完market structure之后，我先不讲market failure，而是讲labour market。原因在于，在labour market里，demand和supply和product market是完全互换的。如果product market掌握熟练了，labour market的图其实很容易理解。
学习顺序：
1. Labour demand and supply

3. Wage difference

5. Market failure and policies
1-4章，我们不讲任何government intervention (除了第四章minimum wage)。Market failure和policies这部分内容，我们在第五章统一讲。
学习顺序：
1. Externalities (注意，所有externalities的图都是assume perfect competition，这也是为什么一定要先学market structure)
2. Policies to deal with externalities
3. Policies to deal with monopoly (Privatisation and nationalisation)
4. Asymmetric information (Moral hazard, adverse selection, Principal-agent problem)
5. Government failure
6. Equity and equality
