On the day of outdoor classes, students will be transported to local parks. There, teachers will help students explore nature and learn about the environment (for example, plants and animals), environmental problems (such as pollution), and ways of addressing these problems.Do you think that outdoor classes once a month will be a worthwhile use of students' instructional time and school resources?
Kelly:
We should avoid burdening teachers with additional responsibilities during instructional time. Teachers are already tasked with delivering quality education and managing classrooms effectively. Adding more duties, such as administrative tasks or non-teaching responsibilities, can divert their focus from teaching. Instead, we should prioritize supporting teachers in their primary role.
Andrew:
Hands-on learning outside the classroom can help students understand environmental problems in a tangible way and spark their interest to learn more. For example, measuring air or water quality in local areas impacted by pollution can vividly demonstrate environmental threats. Outdoor learning experiences make environmental issues real to students, motivating them to care about finding solutions.
There, teachers will help students explore nature and learn about the environment (for example, plants and animals), environmental problems (such as pollution), and ways of addressing these problems.“老师会带着学生探索自然,学习环境的一些知识(比如,植物和动物), 了解环境问题(比如污染), 和之列环境问题的方法”.
运用课堂上的知识解决一些问题(students can witness real-world applications of what they learn)。
(Exposure to nature and environmental issues can deepen their understanding and interest:native flora and fauna)
(The cost-effectiveness of using in-house labs vs. field trips)
(Financial strain on school budgets.)
I concur with Andrew that it is beneficial for schools to integrate outdoor classes into students curriculum. My conviction stems from the real-world understandingthat outdoor experiences provides to students. (students are justeithermindlessly scribbling down complex mathematical equations or staring at the blackboard without reallyputting thoughts in it, an outdoor environment offers a more interactive and engaging learning experience). (However, witnessing firsthand the detrimental effects of environment neglect, such as the local fish populations being threaten with extinction due tothe frequent acid rain caused by the burning of fossil fuels),他们就会更投入地学习,专研解决措施(students are more likely to become actively involved in their learning and seek solutions to these pressing issues). In conclusion...

Dr. Gupta:This week, we are discussing the social psychology ofsports.Wehave learned that sports often have positive psychological effectson athletes, such as the members of sports teams. But how can wedescribe their effects on other groups of people, such as sportsenthusiasts or sports fans? Consider the following question: When people spend a lot of time watching sports or following theirfavorite team, does it have a negative effect on their lives? Why orwhy not.Claire:I agree that focusing on sports too much can have negativeimpacts. For example, some people who like watching sports ontelevision have few otherinterests. In fact, it seems like watchingsports is all they're interested in.lsometimes find such peopleannoying because they care too much about things that don'tmatter.Paul:I am not sure what we mean by spending "a lot of time" followingsports. But following sports has helped me in life. When l first metone of my best friends, Daphne, lstarted a conversation with her bysaying something about a sports team lliked. Then we moved toother topics, but sports were a great conservation-starter.
Echoing the perspective of xxx, I believe that spending excessive time watching sports brings significant drawbacks to fans, particularly concerning their health.Major and popular games, such as the European Football Cup, NBA, and French Open, often last at least two hours, and if there’s a tie, the duration extends even longer. This can negatively impact fans' health. For instance, fans may become so engrossed in the game that they neglect physical activity themselves, choosing instead to spend their time watching.Furthermore, due to time zone differences, fans might stay up late into the night to watch a game held elsewhere. Most fans have work or school the next day, and staying up late to watch even the most exciting finals can result in dizziness and fatigue, leading to mistakes at work or school.
